The key task of the Award Jury is to consider the presentations and reports received from the Assessment Teams and after rigorous scrutiny and enquiry of evidence gathered, information presented and verified make recommendation to the General Secretariat of the Executive as to Awardees and Prize Winners.
Conditions Relating to Jurors
Recruitment and Selection
The Jury will be selected by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council from amongst:
- Eminent figures who are renowned leaders in Excellence in Quality within the Middle East
- Eminent figures who have led their organisations to recognition in Excellence Awards outside of the Middle East
- The Excellence Award Director (ex officio)
The Jury will comprise between 5 -7 leaders in the field of Excellence and will be chaired by a globally recognised and leading figure of wide international experience on all aspects of Excellence
Code of Ethical Conduct
Members of the ADAEP Jury pledge to uphold their professional principles in the fulfilment of their responsibilities. In promoting the highest standards of ethical Conduct, Jury Members will:
- Conduct themselves professionally with integrity, accuracy and equity
- Shall adhere to the processes, protocols and procedures established for the effective and objective discharge of reaching consensus as to recommendations the be made to the General Secretariat of the Executive Council
- Shall not represent conflicting or competing interests nor place themselves in such a position where a personal interest may appear to be in conflict with purposes and administration of the Award
- Shall safeguard the confidences of all parties involved in the assessment process
- Shall maintain and safeguard fairness in the assessment process, the confidentiality of all submission documentary information and the identity of participating entities
- Shall not serve any special or private interest in relation to any interest held in the past five years with any Government Department in Abu Dhabi
- Shall not intentional communicate false or misleading information which may compromise the integrity of the Award process or decisions taken therein.
- Shall not approach any entity participating in the Award process for their personal gain, including the establishment of any employment or consultancy arrangement for a period of not less than two years from the time of the Jury deliberations
How the Jury Will Operation
- In respect of each assessment undertaken, the assessment teams will be given equal time to present their findings and conclusions to the Jury. The format and content of the presentations will be in line with common templates provided. This will best ensure equity of consideration for each applicant and best ensure consistency in providing the Jury with the most relevant and required information to assist their deliberations.
- The Jury has the responsibility to question the Assessment Teams to clarify information or resolve issues that are referred to in the presentations or other matters concerning the conduct of the assessment undertaken.
- The Jury will have the opportunity to study each Submission
- The Jury will invite the Assessment Team to review their assessed organisation in terms of performance against the ‘Eight Concepts of Excellence’.
- A template slide ‘Score by Criteria’ will be the final consensus Master Score Sheet produced by each Assessment Team.
- The Jury are empowered to request the assessment teams to reconsider aspects of their findings and conclusion or to make a further visitation to a particular entity to resolve any issues upon which the Jury require further information
- The Jury may determine to visit an entity in pursuit of their enquiries and deliberations
- The contents of the Jury presentation are confidential to the individual Assessment Team and the Jury. Its contents will not be made known to other Assessors or the entity assessed. The transactions between the Jury and the Assessment Team presenting shall be treated as confidential.
- The Jury will not be able to accept for consideration any documents, materials or other papers tabled during the presentation.
